DA oversight uncovered the scandal: R408 million/year rent, potentially R2 billion over 5 years. Five buildings leased from one highly connected individual (Herbert Telegdy). Owned buildings like 78 Fox Street (R168m value) sit neglected, only lifts need fixing to house 11 departments & save millions.

Empty rented offices (e.g., 55 Fox Street for Education Dept) are filthy & unsafe – yet rent keeps flowing. Premier shocked last year, promised 3-month investigation – a year later, no report!
This is taxpayer money wasted while residents suffer sewage, outages, potholes. DA demands: Full audit, stop the bleed, redirect funds to real service delivery!

We need to make bold decisions to get Gauteng and the City of JHB from.this disastrous collapse. Love her or not, we need to force Helen Zille out of retirement I guarantee she will fix City of JHB in less than 2 years. She was world mayor of the year in 2008. I know this is a far shot,but the no nonsense workaholic with make Johannesburg CBD similar to Cape Town.

Some times bold decisions needs to be taken for the country not on party political lines but for the better of the country. If it's party political lines then either Parks Tau or Kgosientso Ramokgopa must be deployed.
