The City of Alexandria will host a Veterans Memorial Tribute Service at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, in Convention Hall inside Alexandria City Hall, located at 915 Third Street. The public and local veterans are invited to attend the ceremony.

Self-serve sandbag locations will open at 2 p.m. today. Elderly and those who need assistance can get pre-filled bags from 2-6 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the City Compound. Limit of 10 pre-filled bags per car.
