Sad to see BitMex go. Some thoughts:

BitMex pioneered 100x perps in crypto back in 2014. Delivery futures existed before then, making Fridays hectic.

BTC deposits only, one chain only, withdrawals only once per day, through a multi-sig wallet. The constraints that seemed inconvenient kept them unhacked.

All four founders pled guilty to BSA violations a month before trial, after 18 months of fighting it. $10m fine each, home confinement. No one went to prison.

However, their business didn’t survive the “war on crypto” from the Biden admin.

Lastly, wind down appears orderly, users can withdrawals their assets. Respect to @CryptoHayes 🫡

第二天拜訪央行時，那棟五層樓像一個堡壘，牆厚得能防炮彈，一看就是為了保護金庫設計的。在這片全是平房的區域裡，顯得特別突兀。

央行行長是位慈祥的老太太，但她聽完CZ一行人的介紹後，就笑著把他們請出了門。她對比特幣一無所知，同時覺得根本沒有了解的必要。一種不被央行管理和「保護」的貨幣，怎麼可能流通呢？

說到最後，她自己承認：多哥央行不掌控貨幣主權。作為前法國殖民地，多哥的貨幣至今仍由歐洲央行管理。

看來區塊鏈想在這裡落地，還早得很。

離開央行他們就直奔機場。路上收到總統府的感謝信，至少這份心意讓 @cz_binance 感到寬慰。

那個暴跌40%的開局，是命運給他們準備的第一道考題。

—— 4天之後，恰好是幣安成立9週年。
