@roathboy Chambers in CM was much more about his on the ball ability than his destructiveness - which you wouldn't have expected from someone who has primarily been a defender.
@roathboy I both understand the point and understand the hesitancy to put him back there. Despite the big positives he offered on CM, it meant at least one other player sitting alongside him. Wintle is more adept at playing as a single 6, offering freedom to Joel/Turnbull more freedom.
@ThreeBluebirds_ Agree but my concern is that whilst you might get talent with loans - it's rare you get leadership, which is the key component I think we need. Preferably at centre back.
@roathboy For me it's 100% someone who is not here. We need a new mentality. If we can find a league 1 version of Bamba, Morrison, Hudson who can bring that from outside it would solve a load of issues. I don't see any of the exp players as real consistent leaders.
@Andrewpaulfoot @roathboy He's also the type of player who needs to be fully fit to make a difference, so it's becoming harder to justify a place for him. If he is happy to be a bit part presence then I would have him around. Would love to be wrong and see him play 40 games next year tho!
@roathboy It's become a terrible league. Quality has got lower and lower. It's more attractive to be a benchwarmer in the prem financially than play in Champ and with 5 subs more players stay there. Apart from top 2-3 each year it's a competition about who is being run the least worse.
@Savigma@roathboy Was thinking about the CB's the other day and whilst I like Goutas and Daland it's easily put in perspective if you list Bamba, Morrison, Manga, Purse, Gabbidon, Johnson, Loovens, Collins. We are nowhere near that standard who all played Champ football for us.
