Pat and Behan Strong would like to thank Alfred Macatuno, the General Manager of Mobility Works in Alexandria, VA, for arranging transportation services last week.

It was because of Alfred, and Pat’s driver, Dwight, that he was able to get to the ALS Clinic at Georgetown Medical last Wednesday. They had been through a long day of appointments, as well as three previous van cancellations. Couple that with the fact metro access was running two and a half hours behind.

Regardless, Alfred and Dwight were able to arrange pick up and drop off for Pat without any notice. They each exhibit the kindness that makes the Behan Strong movement so powerful.

Here is the reality: Pat is currently in the @GWHospital ICU, fighting for his life.

He has pneumonia and is on full ventilation, a blood clot in his lungs, his stomach is in knots, among other things.

ALS is unforgiving. It does not affect the mind, but it does. It does not affect the heart, but it does. This disease doesn’t care if you were a Division 1 athlete, or leading young men to the apex of success. It doesn’t care about anything.
