Quick reality check about Coyote vs Acme - the actual amount it needs to make to break even is $60 million; 50 for Ketchup's acquisition & another 10 they spent on advertising. They don't have to make back the production budget, because that was WB's money spent. As of right now they're at $44m. Even after breaking even, though, they still need to make a bit more to be considered "profitable." A film usually needs to make back 2-3x its costs to be considered a success because the theaters take a percentage, people need to get a return on their investment, & so on. Ketchup does own home video rights, but of course those aren't as profitable as they used to be. I admit I'm biased against the film, but objectively those are just the facts. It could still be a success in the long run, but it's not really there yet. There's a lot of ignorant or ill-informed rah-rah posting about CvA right now because people are emotionally invested in it, but pointing out that "It's the third most successful Looney Tunes film!" or "It just surpassed Back in Action!" (not adjusted for inflation & nevermind the fact Back in Action was a big flop) doesn't actually tell you anything, it's just about people wanting this underdog story to have a happy ending. Would that people cared this much about The Day The Earth Blew Up, etc, etc...
