I was one of the admirers of Charlie Kirk and his Show, America has lost a brave and uncompromising voice. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family. His passing also calls us to remember the countless Sudanese lives lost in silence, fighting for a secular, democratic, equal, and just Sudan. May Charlie’s memory, together with theirs, end the violence faced by those of us who dare to uphold a different view or call for change.

The Muslim Brotherhood brought Sudan nothing but bloodshed, corruption, division, and systematic destruction. Today, we remember the countless communities, families, and individuals, who suffered because of the actions and policies of this destructive organization. Justice must prevail, and the Sudanese people will always remember this historic decision by the United States. To the Islamists: whatever you have done or will do to regain power in Sudan, today’s designation is a clear step toward proving you wrong. A step closer to New Sudan.

One day, history will record that the auspicious birth of the TASIS government on July 26 in Nyala al-Behair in the far west of Sudan, on the basis of a bold and unprecedented charter and constitution, marks the most significant event in the country’s modern history since the birth of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement on May 16, 1983, in the city of Bor in the far south of Sudan.

The new government, with its non-secessionist agenda and headquarters in Nyala, will not only serve as the voice, refuge, protector, and servant of all citizens who oppose and have suffered from the continued existence and brutality of the failed Sudanese state, but will also be a constant nightmare for the Islamists and their arrogant, power-hungry army, and a steadfast antidote to all the forces of the old Sudan that are futilely trying to preserve the crumbling structures, collapsing institutions, and corrupt systems of their oppressive state, which—by all standards—has lost any justification for its continuation or existence.

Sovereignty, which the ruling elites have historically abused—at times through blatant assaults on political and civil freedoms, at other times through corruption, favoritism, and nepotism, and repeatedly through reckless foreign policies driven by narrow, ideological, and dogmatic minds—has today, in action rather than words, returned to its rightful owners: the vast majority of the Sudanese people, long excluded from centers of decision-making.

So, congratulations to these peoples—whose necks, despite the weight and duration of oppression, have remained uplifted in yearning for freedom and the dawn of a new Sudan—on the birth of their first founding government. And congratulations to the TASIS alliance on this glorious proclamation of a new political and constitutional order.

سوف يذكر التاريخُ يوماً أنَّ الميلادَ الميمون لحكومة (تأسيس)، في السادسِ والعشرين من يوليو، بنيالا البحير، غرب الجبيل، في أقصى غرب السودان، وبميثاقٍ ودستورٍ بيِّنَين وجريئَين لم يسبق لهما مثيلٌ في تاريخ البلاد الحديث، هو الحدثُ الأكبر بعد ميلادِ الحركة الشعبية لتحرير السودان، في السادس عشر من مايو عام 1983، بمدينة بور في أقصى جنوب السودان.

إنَّ الحكومةَ الجديدة، ذاتُ الأجندةِ غير الانفصالية، التي ستكون مقارُّها في نيالا، علاوةً على أنها ستكون صوتاً وملاذاً وحاميةً وخادمةً لكلِّ المواطنين المناهضين لبقاءِ وبطشِ الدولة السودانية القديمة الفاشلة، ستشكّل كابوساً دائماً للإسلاميين وجيشِهم المتغطرس، المتعطّش للسلطة والهيمنة، وترياقاً مضاداً ثابتاً لكلِّ قوى السودان القديم، التي تسعى عبثاً إلى الحفاظِ على البنايات المتداعية، والمؤسساتِ المتهاوية، والأنظمة الفاسدة لدولتهم الظالمة، التي فقدت—بكلِّ المعايير—كلَّ مبرّراتِ البقاء والاستمرارية.

إنَّ السيادةَ التي أساءت النُّخبُ الحاكمةُ، تاريخياً، استخدامَها — تارةً بالعدوان السافر على الحريات السياسية والمدنية، وتارةً أخرى بالفساد والمحاباة والمحسوبية، ومراراً باتّباع سياساتٍ خارجيةٍ متهوّرة، تُدار بعقولٍ أيديولوجيةٍ مغلقةٍ ومتحجّرة — قد عادت اليوم، فعلاً لا قولاً، إلى أصحابها الحقيقيين: السواد الأعظم من شعوب السودان المُغيَّبة عن مراكز القرار.

فهنيئاً لهذه الشعوب، التي ظلّت أعناقُها، رغم كثافة الضيم وطول أمده، مشرئبّةً إلى الحرية وبزوغ فجر السودان الجديد، بميلاد حكومتها التأسيسية الأولى. وهنيئاً لتحالف (تأسيس) بهذا الإعلان المجيد لنظامٍ سياسيٍّ ودستوريٍّ جديد.
