La fédération française de gymnastique a non seulement lâché Kaylia après une rééducation, mais elle aussi tenté d’opposer son veto lorsque celle-ci a décidé de rejoindre la fédération algérienne. Elle est aujourd’hui sacrée championne du monde aux barres asymétriques et elle remporte également la médaille d’argent à la poutre. Elle devient la première femme algérienne et africaine à être championne du monde en gymnastique à seulement 18 ans.
