A Historic Milestone for Mental Health in Pakistan! 🇵🇰🧠

Honored to participate in the inception meeting for the National Mental Health Policy (2027–2036), chaired by the Federal Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination (M/o NHSR&C) in strategic collaboration with WHO Pakistan and UNICEF.
This landmark forum brought together leading psychiatrists, psychologists, educational authorities, and international health delegates to deliberate on a visionary, ten-year roadmap for the country.
As a Professor of Psychiatry, I am deeply committed to contributing across all key domains—with a dedicated focus on Mental Health & Law (Forensic Psychiatry) to ensure robust legal frameworks, ethical safeguards, and institutional care standards for mental healthcare in Pakistan.

آج میرے والدِ محترم ممتاز مصطفیٰ ایڈووکیٹ، رکن قومی اسمبلی کی دوسری برسی ہے۔ دو برس قبل اللہ تبارک و تعالیٰ نے اپنی یہ امانت واپس لے لی۔
یہ ایک اٹل حقیقت ہے کہ ہم سب نے ایک دن اسی سفر پر روانہ ہونا ہے، مگر اصل اہمیت اس بات کی ہے کہ انسان اپنے پیچھے کیا نام، کیا کردار، کیا محبت اور کیسی یادیں چھوڑ کر جاتا ہے۔
میرے والدِ محترم نے اپنی پوری زندگی عشقِ مصطفیٰ ﷺ میں بسر کی۔
“آبروئے ما ز نامِ مصطفیٰ است”
گویا یہی مصرع ان کی زندگی، ان کی شخصیت اور ان کی پہچان کا خلاصہ تھا۔
وہ آج ہمارے درمیان موجود نہیں، مگر ان کی محبت، ان کی تربیت، ان کی اصول پسندی اور رسولِ اکرم ﷺ سے ان کی والہانہ وابستگی آج بھی ہمارے دلوں میں زندہ ہے۔
آپ سب سے مؤدبانہ درخواست ہے کہ میرے والدِ محترم کے لیے دعائے مغفرت فرمائیں۔
اللہ تعالیٰ ان کی کامل مغفرت فرمائے، ان کے درجات بلند کرے، ان کی قبر کو نور سے بھر دے اور انہیں جنت الفردوس میں اعلیٰ مقام عطا فرمائے۔

Child Psychiatry Unit SZMCH:
Shaikh Zayed Medical College Hospital (SZMCH) in Rahim Yar Khan has officially notified the establishment of a dedicated Child Psychiatry Unit (CPU).
The initiative was approved by Principal Professor Dr. Muhammad Saleem Laghari following a recommendation by Professor Dr. Ali Burhan Mustafa, Head of the Psychiatry Department. The unit’s primary mission is to provide early diagnosis, effective treatment, and comprehensive rehabilitation for children facing mental health challenges.
Supervised by Associate Professor Dr. Urooj Burhan and a multidisciplinary team, the CPU is expected to serve as a specialized hub for pediatric mental health, significantly enhancing the quality of integrated healthcare services available in the region.

شیخ زاید میڈیکل کالج ہسپتال رحیم یار خان میں ایک خصوصی بچہ سائیکاٹری یونٹ کے قیام کا باقاعدہ نوٹیفکیشن جاری کر دیا گیا ہے۔

یہ اقدام پرنسپل پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد سلیم لغاری کی منظوری سے عمل میں آیا، جو کہ شعبۂ سائئکاٹری کے سربراہ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر علی برہان مصطفیٰ کی سفارش پر کیا گیا۔ اس یونٹ کا بنیادی مقصد بچوں میں ذہنی صحت کے مسائل کی بروقت تشخیص، مؤثر علاج، اور جامع بحالی کی سہولیات فراہم کرنا ہے۔
