The Donald Trump administration has pulled millions of dollars in funding for Chicago Public Schools.
This came after CPS refused to abolish its Black Student Success Plan or ban transgender students from using their preferred bathrooms or competing in sports.

Some thoughts on Vallas’s education policy: first of all, all schools that aren’t selective enrollment or magnet are open enrollment.
Second of all, there are thousands of empty seats in CPS. Why would we open new charters if we can’t even fill the seats we have?
Ok I’m biased because I obviously don’t want “to dismantle central administration” but don’t LSCs already vote on school budgets? CPS spent so much $$ on Skyline, is this insinuating that he’d abandon that with “freeing principals to innovate curriculum”
