Upcoming elections in Israel and Pakistan’s nuclear facilities are said to have one thing in common: Jonathan Pollard.​​​​​

Jonathon Pollard is running in upcoming parliamentary elections to Israel’s Knesset as a member of the ‘Israel First’ party.

But he’s also the person who is at the centre of allegations and conspiracy reports that sensitive information on Pakistan’s nuclear facilities reached Israel in 1980s.

Before assuming a political façade, Jonathan Pollard, who’s actually an American citizen, spied for Israel while working for the US Navy’s intelligence service. One of Pollard’s major tasks assigned by Israel was to collect information on Pakistan’s nuclear programme.

In 1987, he was sentenced to life in prison for spying and remained jailed for 30 years until he was finally released in 2015.

But lets revisit his task for Pakistan:

In 2012, CIA declassified “The Jonathan Jay Pollard Espionage Case: A Damage Assessment” report which it had prepared in the aftermath of this case coming to light in October 1987.

The report revealed that Pollard’s Israeli handlers specifically asked him to acquire intelligence collected by the US government on the Pakistani nuclear weapons program among other tasks.

As per this report, Pollard received initial, formal instruction from the Israelis during three days of operational planning and tasking sessions which took place in Paris in November 1984.

Here, Pollard met Rafael Eitan, advisor on counterterrorism to the then Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir, as well as Joseph Yagur, Counselor for Scientific Affairs at the Israeli Consulate in New York, who was Pollard’s direct handler.

At one of the Paris meetings, Yagur told Pollard that he should obtain the following categories of information, in descending order of priority, placing the task of extracting information on Pakistan’s nuclear program as top priority:

▪️Arab and Pakistani nuclear intelligence.
▪️Arab exotic weaponry, including chemical and biological weapons
▪️Soviet air defences, Soviet aircraft, air-to-air missiles, air-to-surface missiles and Arab order-of-battle.

Meanwhile, in a section titled ‘Implications of Compromises: What Israel Gained from Pollard’s Espionage’, the CIA assessment states that Pollard focused on “Arab and Pakistani nuclear intelligence” and gave his Israeli handlers information on a secret Pakistani ‘plutonium reprocessing facility near Islamabad’.

Moreover, Yagur also expressed interest in intelligence regarding “all Middle Eastern countries”, which he defined as ranging from Morocco to Pakistan and from Lebanon to the Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Algeria, and Pakistan.

Further information in the declassified report about this subject is completely redacted. However, all in all, there are 10 references to Pakistan and its nuclear facilities in the document but details have been erased from the publicly available copy.

Pollard’s supporters in the US and Israel, including Israeli president Shimon Peres and prime ministers Yitzhak Rabin, Ehud Barak, Ehud Olmert, and Benjamin Netanyahu ran a thirty-year campaign for Pollard’s clemency but failed to overcome ferocious opposition from within the US intelligence community, the Department of Defense, and members of Congress.

But by 2020, opposition from those with intimate knowledge of the harm Pollard caused could not, in the end, withstand the influence of pro-Israel lobbying over a sitting US president.

Israeli billionaire philanthropists and the biggest donors to President Donald Trump and the Republican Party, Sheldon and Miriam Adelson, urged the Trump Justice Department to lift parole restrictions preventing Pollard’s immigration to Israel.

Eventually, in 2020, the Trump Justice Department’s gave the decision to lift Pollard’s travel restrictions and Pollard got ferried to Israel in a sleek 737 private jet owned by Adelsons and arrived to a personal welcome by Netanyahu at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv.

Basir Mounir El-Boursh was killed a few hours ago in revenge for his father, Mounir El-Boursh, the Director General of the Ministry of Health in Gaza.

His 13-year-old daughter, Jenan, was killed too in 2023, as Israel deliberately targets the families of the medical staff, forcing them to leave the patients to die.

I received a phone call today by someone claiming to be from the military, the person sent me my excise sheet and footage from the motorway toll plaza of my vehicle entering the highway. He claimed that I had passed his vehcile while over speeding and that he had barely survived the crash after I had sped away. He demanded a compensation of 1.2 million. The only fact is that the date he mentioned I was out of the country. I told him to share his particulars, he then named a senior military official, claiming to be his nephew. And that he would have me picked up.
Regardless that this was scam to extort money, I understand that it’s not difficult to get details of vehicles or assets, but how come he managed to retrieve the camera footage from a motorway toll plaza, which is basically surveillance footage controlled by the government. Is the system that compromised that our data is so easily available to anyone who can buy it? Are criminals now operating in tandem with networks deep within our surveillance system? Is there any accountability at any level?
