On drowning; it is personal.
While in primary school - at Mbarara Municipal, we would ‘cut’ class to go swimming in River Rwizi. My friends drowned as I watched on helplessly. But no one ever called it drowning. They said the ‘ghosts’ of the Indians who had been cremated and their ashes thrown into the river, had taken them. Myths about drowning also need to be tackled to bridge the gap.
