Umanu @mrUmanu_Elijah spent years in the grassroots promoting Etsako. He organized computer trainings, drone pilot trainings, distributed laptops and educational materials across Etsako, and pioneered Afemai pageantry, among many other initiatives. The man simply said, “Etsako must shine,” and went to work at the grassroots. As an Obidient who has been there from the very beginning, let me remind you that Umanu was responsible for virtually all the live streams you watched during Peter Obi’s 2022/2023 campaign. All the PO town hall meetings with students across Nigeria under TBN. When we moved to ADC, he was there. When we moved to NDC, he moved too. Not once did Umanu demand a ticket because he was Obidient. He was asked to step down for Oshiomhole’s friend who had just joined from APC. He refused. He was offered money. He refused. While the primaries were ongoing, Umanu was in the field doing the work. The Bawa camp went to Benin with party leadership in Edo and declared Bawa the consensus candidate. The National Leader, Dickson, cancelled that declaration and ordered Bawa to return to the field. He never did. Today, Umanu, who clearly won the primaries, has been sidelined and the ticket handed to Bawa. And you don’t want him to rant? God will punish you. And when you are oppressed by the powers that be, may you remember that you stood against a common man fighting injustice. Umanu @mrUmanu_Elijah, I am very proud of you. Thank you for choosing integrity over money. Thank you for refusing to sell out. Thank you for remaining steadfast to the values that made us Obidients and followers of Peter Obi’s brand of politics. A New Nigeria is Possible.
