Congress just ignored the science & voted for the wrong permanent time. Sleep scientists agree: standard time, not DST, matches our body clocks — morning light sets the circadian rhythm. Permanent DST = dark winter mornings, worse sleep, more accidents.
I had to stop listening when his stories about rap didn’t math right. I grew up in NYC and remember listening to Rapper’s Delight from a boom box in my class (circa 79). If Rubin is 63, then it was 1981 when he was 18. By 81 things were very different and not like the scene he described as an 18 year old. I like him, enjoyed his book on creativity, but he got something wrong here.
@vinyl_bones@bryan_johnson Ha! I came up with a quasi-neologism for that style — biofiction. https://t.co/bEO6wp9eAt.
As well as the term biolanguage — which he used a lot here! (I tend to be more subtle in my biofiction.)
@Mr_Black_nWhite@MissSassbox Agree. N of 1, but if I find that I want to keep listening to a song over and over, I will purposefully resist doing so as not to habituate to it and lose the novelty and my love for it. The fact that I can do this seems to conflict with the guy’s premise.
@SpencrGreenberg Until this year, I could have answered “the feeling of resentment.” Had never felt it til this year. I was like “ah, so this is resentment!” Was utterly foreign to me for almost 6 decades.
