this is your friendly reminder that suzanne collins actually wrote the hunger games during the iraq war. the inspiration came to her when she was flipping through tv channels between reality shows and footage of the iraq war.
I feel like two of the three most high profile royal wives of our lifetimes were pretty openly like “hey marrying into this family is absolutely the most terrifying and fucked up and mental illness inducing thing I could ever imagine” and now the third one is literally missing

Stand-up comedian hired to play Willy Wonka at the widely criticised ‘Willy’s Chocolate Experience’ breaks his silence:
“I’m constantly applying for more acting jobs and comedy work, then I got a phone call saying, ‘Congratulations you are going to play Willy Wonka, we will send you over the script and dress rehearsal is tomorrow.’ The script was 15 pages of AI-generated gibberish of me just monologuing these mad things ... at the end of my monologue, I was supposed to suck up the Unknown Man with a vacuum cleaner. I asked them if they had a vacuum cleaner and they said, ‘yeah, we haven’t really got there yet, so just improvise’.”
and i know i just said this the other day but i’ll say it again. suzanne specifically wrote this story as she watched people become desensitized to the violence that the us committed in the iraq war. the parallels are there on purpose and its not accidental in the slightest.
