On 7th June, a team of us from @TorbaySDevonNHS Cath Lab trekked 26 miles around the South Devon Coast. It was tough but we kept each other motivated; smiling & laughing through the rain (& pain 😅!).

🚨 Torbay’s Coronary Services Must Stay! 🚨

The fight to protect Torbay’s PPCI coronary services is far from over. Moving this life-saving heart attack treatment 24 miles away to Exeter will create dangerous delays in emergency care—putting lives at risk.

I’m urging local health bosses to rethink this plan, but I need your help. Every name added to the petition sends a powerful message—our community deserves accessible, urgent healthcare right here in Torbay.

Alongside fellow local Lib Dem MPs, I’ve written to the Devon Integrated Care Board to formally urge them not to proceed with the Test of Change that would move primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (pPCI) procedures to Exeter.

Torbay’s cardiologists have shared serious concerns about this proposal, and I believe patient safety must come first. I’ve called for a more inclusive approach—one that fully consults with Torbay & South Devon NHS Trust (TSDFT) before making decisions that could impact lives.

This fight isn’t over. We need accountability and a health system that listens to the experts on the front lines.

Today I have pressed the Health Secretary with an urgent question, requesting he meet with me and other local MPs to discuss the proposed relocation of coronary services from Torbay Hospital to Exeter.

I'm deeply concerned this move risks patient safety for Torbay residents. I'm disappointed that my request for a meeting was declined.

I'm now demanding meetings with local health bosses to directly address these concerns.

My closest auntie died suddenly 2 weeks ago, my Uncle (her husband) has been told he has metastatic cancer with months to live and I've spent the whole day in an ambulance with my elderly Grandad.

Spent yesterday in Bristol with the 2 girls who were by my side throughout our nursing degree!
True friendship stands the tests of distance and time. It may have been a year since we were last together but it felt like we've never been apart 🥹

My cup, and heart, is so full ❤️
