That fake concern for butch/tall women again. They give no fucks about those women, so it's pointless to point out how easily we can tell the difference. What they want is to make it taboo for us to challenge ANYONE in our spaces, no matter how obviously male. >
The Code isn’t itself secondary legislation. It’s guidance that explains the law. The time for MPs to scrutinise the Eq Act’s single-sex exceptions was when Parliament passed this law back in 2010. If MPs want to change the law they need to change the law, not block guidance.
This is a real shame, because it's extremely funny in many places, especially when a bit of backbone and snark shines through. But mostly the tiptoes are too tentative for this old Gen Xer. Needs to be about 50% more terfy for a heartfelt recommendation.
I have Thoughts about this book. Firstly, as an averagely horny, averagely not-hot straight lady of middle years, whose diaries are as full of Boy Drama at 50 as they were at 20, I thought the book would be for me! >
Even though the author def still uses the same definition of "straight woman" as I would, to the point of including self-identified "gay trans men", there's still far too much throat-clearing on gender that knocks the bottom out of all the analysis. >
@stellacreasy But I suspect the changes you want to see are more fundamental. Perhaps to replace "sex" as a protected characteristic with "gender identity"? I would venture that that's not going to be a vote winner. It would be amongst the most regressive anti-woman legislation in history.
@francesweetman Tbf that was pretty pathetic. Writing about it in the Times is what you do when you aren't already in the Cabinet. If you already have that job, then DO it, don't just whine about how someone ought to fix things.
Delighted to have spent some time talking to @HeatherB_WRN from the @WomensRightsNet earlier this month about the Post Office and (mainly) gender woo. Glad it’s now up. And sorry about my broadband dropouts - ropey start but it gets better.

I can’t get over what a profound waste of everyone’s time gender ideology has been. Instead of advancing forwards, feminism has had to stand still, and use all its efforts to win back the most basic public provisions we already had.
An old mate of mine has a book out - a series of funny anecdotes from her time running a house-cleaning agency, with all the entitled clients and awful jobs you could imagine. Go buy a copy if this is your cup of tea 😊
For the millionth time, only someone who thinks female-bodied people are inferior to male-bodied people - a massive sexist, that is - could think feminism is all about cleansing the concept 'woman' from any association with female biology
Two-paragraph horror story.
When euthanasia is an option, suicidality can no longer be treated as inherently disordered. A teenage girl tries to kill herself twice, and her doctor offers to help her finish the job as a legitimate “treatment.”
