In praise of "worker bees" in organisations & in nature. They keep the system going. Hierarchical structures often fail to recognise the impact of small-scale contributors. We need to acknowledge that “smaller” players are critical to the health & resilience of larger organisations. (Also, in nature, bees hate micromanagers):

Leadership here - in bundles - I don't always agree with some leaders or Met commissioners but credit where its due. He is totally correct in this instance.
It is with great sorrow that we have learned of the death of former ACC Chris Johnson on Thursday.
Chris was an inspiration, who was open about his illness but never let it define him.
Our thoughts are with his family today and all of his colleagues in policing.
I read this quote today: “Culture is a consequence of actions rather than beliefs” (Via @andreasholmer). "Culture change" projects often fail when they focus on beliefs/values rather than actions. Better to enable culture change by doing real work in line with improvement goals.
Often in the workshops I facilitate, we have a ground rule of "no HIPPOs" (Highest Paid Person's Opinion counts most). I just found a great graphic for this via @tweetvandijk that I am going to steal with pride.
What an amazing game @Lionesses cracking play all over the pitch! I do wish the @BBCOne coverage would time the interviews for after the players have been able to celebrate! 🤣
@2137Lejog Amazing efforts!! I cycled Coast2 Coast a few weeks ago..and that was only 150 miles in beautiful weather! I’m full of admiration for how far you managed to cycle..let alone the grit to do as much as you did in horrid conditions!!! Simply amazing!
