I have only ever written about or presented my research in English, my first language. It is such a massive(ly unfair) advantage to be able to do so, and to engage with scholars around the world through this medium with so little effort on my part
How hard is it to do science in a language that’s not your first language? We quantified the severity of #languagebarriers for non-native English speakers when reading/publishing papers and attending/presenting at international conferences.
