OMG - her earrings are bees!🐝🐝
Apparently they are the symbol of Manchester where Princess Catherine is visiting the world renowned Christie NHS Foundation Trust cancer center.
Gracie & Laura planned to get little tattoos together but Laura’s so poorly now, it’s just not possible.
Gracie got hers yesterday & came back with a matching stencil for her sister. She’s the strawberry, Laura’s the apple.
#SiblingLoss is a whole other level of heartbreak. 🍓🍎
Today was quite short on joy.
Laura’s photo montage came back from the @BrainTumourOrg art exhibition & reminded me of how quickly our lives have changed beyond recognition.
But it was nice to read in the garden for a change &☀️ & I’m pretty sure Laura enjoyed @bbceurovision
Wrestling heavy, uncooperative limbs into clothing & between wheelchairs & commodes is tricky to say the least @bealiesaw joggers & https://t.co/djXetprUS7 sweatshirts have definitely helped.
Laura's managing mouthfuls of soup & yoghurt, she's sleeping a lot, I miss her voice.
Still trying to find something good in every day, but it’s tough.
Meeting Laura’s most basic of needs takes up much of the day & now her food needs to be sieved as well as liquidised but we got out for another walk & I’m reading The Magic Faraway Tree to her once again. #GBM
Sending love to all the mums who are grieving & living with their loss every single minute.
The fact that you get out of bed & function despite having your heart utterly destroyed is a testament to your love & your courage.
#InternationalBereavedMothersDay
Watching someone you love lose every aspect of themselves is absolute torture.
Walking, speech & even swallowing is beyond Laura now.
My beautiful, kind & clever girl is in there somewhere & I miss her with all my heart.
#Glioblastoma is so unbelievably cruel.
@ourbrainbank
Whether you're being crowned,
Watching someone be crowned,
Or avoiding crowns altogether.
Enjoy the long weekend (and thank you to those in hospitality, shops, hospitals, transport, and elsewhere who are working so others can enjoy)
See you Tuesday.
Things are grim, Laura can’t speak & she’s losing her ability to swallow.
She’s very low (& who wouldn’t be in her shoes) so we took her for a late night walk round the park.
No brakes on the wheelchair & it’s a big old hill but it did get a smile from her (& it knackered Mark)
Busy day with district nurses, rehab physio, occupational therapist and speech & language therapist. Got the wheelchair, the commode & the hospital bed's on its way.
Struggling with the thought that she'll never sleep in her own bed, in her own room again, but still I'm hoping❤️
One of the hardest things is going in first thing before she’s woken up.
She looks the same as before, & despite everything, I still have a ridiculous hope that she’ll be a bit better today and this isn’t actually the end.
Hope is the hardest thing to kill.
Thanks for all the kind messages of support, sadly I don’t have a second to reply with dressing, feeding, bathroom duties & managing journeys up & down stairs. It’s all pretty full on.
This disease has stolen every aspect of my daughter & if I let myself cry, I’ll never stop.
Winner 🏇🏽🥇
The 9 year old legend Wow put in an incredible performance today!! On his 75th start and earning over €200,000 I’m delighted to wish him a very happy retirement!
He’s going to a great loving home to enjoy life as a riding horse!
Enjoy retirement buddy ❤️ #Legend
Every day is a little harder now.
Laura’s basically non verbal & can no longer walk .
A few months ago she applied to do a masters, now she can’t do anything for herself. It’s tough.
This disease is a bastard.
#Glioblastoma#GBM@ourbrainbank@BrainTumourOrg@braintumourrsch
It’s taken an enormous amount of effort but Laura’s off to @maggiesmanc tonight to celebrate with the models from the class of 21 #MaggiesontheRunway
Speech is very difficult & walking is a challenge but she was determined.
