Hi Friends! Im running a seminar series this spring which digs into what it takes to build & maintain a set of strategic capacities for sustainable development (#C4SD). The first one on the #Capacity to Measure Sustainable Development is THIS Wednesday: https://t.co/uJBEMpdSGe

These new LNG plants will be 20x as bad for the climate as the Willow Oil boondoggle Biden approved this year; it's a chance for him to recoup some climate credibility

For my first as an @TheAtlantic staffer, I wrote about insurance. While the insurance industry drops homeowners' coverage in climate-addled places, it's still heavily investing in and insuring fossil fuel buildouts, sometimes in those same places: https://t.co/ni3uamhAVo
And for the record, in the coming decades over-consumption and the slow pace of transition to renewable energy and low-carbon lifestyles is the problem. Not overpopulation.
I can't count the number of times I have said I work on sustainability, and hear in response that overpopulation is the problem. This is wrong on many levels, but this article is an especially thoughtful reflection on the coming challenges of depopulation. https://t.co/GKtDpcDZXk
Dear Journalists covering tomorrow's IPCC report release,
First of all, THANK YOU.
Second of all, here are a couple of questions you should not be asking climate scientists, ever ever ever.
@ProfSecchi People should absolutely try harder to spell names correctly, but as someone with dyslexia it's possible that the person has a hard time even literally seeing the misspelling.
@Delta your customer service in St Croix (STX) airport is appalling. Your employee made my wheelchair bound mother cry bc was so insensitive to her needs and unwilling to even get a wheelchair in the first place despite the fact we had clearly requested one on booking. Do better!
@schipper_lisa My take is that for mitigation/transformations to new less carbon intensive development pathways there is fortunately lots of good news, just not fast enough.. On adaptation, especially for most vulnerable, there is NOT that much good news. Around margins sure, but at scale?
@leahstokes@TamarHaspel It is bizarre! Food -wise thanksgiving seems to be a very climate friendly holiday. The flights people take across the counter to spend an awkward meal avoiding talking politics with ones uncles and aunts are almost certainly the carbon elephant in the room.
A model of democratic leadership and humility! Here is to hoping @AdamForColorado is willing to do it all again in two years. I know I will be donating and volunteering. #ColoradoBlue
This campaign has never been about false hope. We ran knowing we could win. And we came close, so close.
So rather than continue with a narrative that the recount could alter the fact that we came up 554 votes short, we are choosing to move forward with honesty & humility.
