Subject: Urgent review of NGN P2P market structure
Dear Bybit P2P Team,
We write as active NGN P2P merchants to request an urgent review of current trading conditions.
The market has shifted from sustainable, profitable trading to a race for volume, rankings, Featured Ads, and rebates. This is unsustainable and risks reducing real liquidity and volume.
Key concerns
1Featured Ads push merchants to trade at tiny margins or large losses just to qualify. Some report losses of thousands of dollars. This creates volume, not a healthy market.
2Cashback/rebates reward volume over profit. Merchants absorb losses expecting incentives to cover them, which distorts prices and forces others offline or into unprofitable trades.
3API/bot trading accelerates undercutting. Competition has become a speed race on price, not service, reliability, or liquidity.
4Fees are too high. Maker fees of 0.3% / 0.25% (block advertisers) crush margins, especially when combined with loss-making volume chasing. This has driven many merchants off the platform.
Proposed solutions
1End Featured Ads and cashback/rebate incentives. Let merchants compete on profit, service, and real demand.
2Cut NGN maker fees to ~0.05% (as on GHS) or at most 0.10%.
3Equalize fees on both sides (e.g. 0.05% buy / 0.05% sell). The current 0.3% on the merchant buy (red) side is uneven and unfair.
4Cap simultaneous active orders at about 10–15 per merchant to reduce domination and spread flow more fairly.
5Add detection and auto-restriction of off-platform negotiation, as other exchanges already do.
Also recommended
•Work with vetted local merchants to flag negotiators, extra charges, and scams — with a fair appeal process before bans become permanent.
•For BTC/ETH sorting, use first-come, first-served listing so position depends on when the ad is posted.
A liquid, profitable merchant base keeps more people online, improves service, and produces more durable volume for Bybit than artificial volume targets.
Please escalate this to P2P management and product.
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Bybit NGN P2P Merchants

Bombing unarmed civilians is not *self defense* it's genocide.
