@AtleeLang93339@C2Antiquity Every denomination claims to correctly exegete the scripture. No matter what, exegesis requires a tradition of interpretation and hermeneutics whether that be the secular bible scholar tradition or the interpretation of various churches. You have to tie yourself institutionally.
@theThinkInst@Acolyte83349490 Paul seemed to have understood the gospel differently when he wrote to the galatian churches that they had a different gospel because of a misunderstanding about circumcision.
@chriswithans But other good national polls like Emerson & NYT also found strong leads for democrats. Atlas too if we donโt want to exclude that.
@SciEmpire2030@NickHintonn Preparation prior to baptism in the form of fasting is present as early as the mid 1st century. Read The Didache Ch. 7. Even the churches contemporary to the apostles did not see the first baptisms in Acts as a universal rule for how all laity ought to have been baptized.
@SciEmpire2030@NickHintonn The Didache is a first century catechesis document. The concept of catechesis is older than the earliest written attestation from the church that Matthew wrote the gospel of Matthew, which is another novelty you enjoy thanks to church tradition.
@SciEmpire2030@NickHintonn Dawg people would undergo years of catechesis in the first few centuries before being accepted into the church ๐คฆโโ๏ธ services were also as long as 3-6 hours
@jakobe291@JayDyer If you think orthodox theology is unbiblical, you have to make an argument for that with scripture & logic. Protestants being either unwilling or unable to do this informs us they have no argument for that, so we remain orthodox.
