Me too. The next 5-10 years will be an exercise in positioning yourself for what’s to come, which will feel a lot like surfing for the first time every day.

I am a believer in a hard takeoff.

This is just one scenario that can lead to it: At the moment we have probably 10 000's of real human researchers working on AI progress. If we have billions, or even just millions, of AGI/160 IQ level AI agents/researchers, which btw. we may have as soon as agents are introduced (many believe this will happen in 2025) and some of them are working on AI progress, we could be looking at accelerating AI research and development at least 1000s fold. With billions of agents (millions fold). We should leapfrog from AGI to ASI within a matter of months, weeks, or even minutes. I can even enter top tier nut futurist territory and say few seconds/miliseconds (with billions of AGI researchers scenario). Additionaly to their number, these agents 'think' thousands of times faster than humans and 'work' 24/7/365. A 10-20 year or longer gap (Singularity 2045) between AGI and ASI/Singularity seems very unlikely to me.
