Xiao Zhan’s 3 Upcoming Dramas: 3 Completely Different Roles
The most relentless man in C-ent is here.
While others have one drama a year, Xiao Zhan has three major productions waiting to air.
All CCTV S+ projects.
All top-tier productions.
All completely different from anything he’s done before.
How is this just a lineup of upcoming dramas?
He’s practically set to dominate screens throughout 2026.
The first: SpyING — an espionage drama.
A dangerously unpredictable man in a suit.
Daylight Entertainment goes all out.
The result of years of hard work.
Xiao Zhan plays Ren Shaobai, a spy living a double life.
On the surface, he is a wealthy young man from Jinling who spends money lavishly, wearing gold-rimmed glasses and sharp suits.
But in reality, he is an underground Party member who has been undercover for seven years.
Republican-era streets recreated at a 1:1 scale.
He lost 7.5 kilograms and trained in Morse code.
Covert financial warfare plus Kunqu opera codes.
A battle of wits unfolding on two fronts.
Slated for CCTV-1.
Over 2.07 million advance reservations.
This is the kind of quality an espionage drama should have.
The second: A Small Town Remedy — a hard-hitting dose of reality.
A performance at the highest level.
Moving on from costume romance and espionage dramas, Xiao Zhan dives straight into local healthcare in Northeast China.
He plays Liu Zhengliang, a brilliant doctor who falls from grace.
From a top Beijing surgeon called in to perform operations to a contract worker in a small town.
Blindfolded because he’s afraid of snow.
Hands covered in blood.
Getting spat on by an alpaca.
Starring alongside Ni Dahong and Chen Jin, both veteran acting powerhouses.
123 days of filming on location.
CCTV specifically highlighted its ability to heal people's hearts.
How is this just acting?
He portrays that sense of brokenness down to his very core.
The third: The Infinite 10 Days — infinite flow.
The ultimate dangerously unpredictable character.
He joined the production right after wrapping his previous drama.
Xiao Zhan plays Qi Xia, a highly intelligent con man.
“My name is Qi Xia. I’m a liar.”
Cool and cocky to the extreme.
Carrying 70 years of memories from repeated cycles, he leads a team in trying to break out of a ten-day cycle of death.
The VFX team behind The Wandering Earth.
A 300 million yuan investment.
An 8,000-square-meter virtual production stage.
A male-centered ensemble story.
No romance.
Only mind games and battles of human nature.
Rules horror.
Book fans are wildly hailing him as the heaven-chosen Qi Xia.
This one is already set to be the drama of the year.
Three dramas. Three different genres.
Three completely separate lives.
From a spy fighting a secret war undercover, to a doctor who comes crashing back down to earth, and then a strategist struggling through recurring cycles.
Xiao Zhan isn’t simply taking on new dramas.
He is tearing down, expanding, and reshaping the boundaries of what he can do as an actor, inch by inch.
Others rely on traffic to survive.
He builds his legacy on his work.
Others fear failing when they try to break out of their usual roles.
He leaps three levels ahead at once.
This is what a top star should look like.
Not clinging to the past.
Not afraid of the unknown.
No limits.
No repeats.
2026 isn’t about Xiao Zhan having dramas waiting to air.
The entire C-ent industry is waiting for his dramas to premiere.
Of these three major productions, which one are you looking forward to the most?

who came up with this comment? 😭
“No one has ever denied that Wang Yibo and Xiao Zhan are the same person. Whenever one of them appears, the other disappears. Think about it”
🎥 Renowned HongKong director, Derek Yee, mentioned #WangYibo in the Golden Goblet Film Forum at the 28th Shanghai International Film Festival. He mentioned that script is very important for young directors, but casting Wang Yibo will bring in investment immediately to start the project even without a script.
“When I come across a script that’s well-written but doesn’t really have a market, I’ll tell the writer straight up that I don’t think it has enough commercial potential. On the other hand, I’ve also seen scripts that aren’t well-written, but have a really great plot twist or a standout moment. In those cases, I’ll tell them, ‘Your script isn’t good enough right now, but if you keep working on it, it can definitely become a great script. It all depends on how much effort you’re willing to put into it.’
So I think it’s still hard for a new director to convince a big-name actor. With some actors, if you can land them, it doesn’t matter if the script isn’t perfect—that’s definitely true. For example, if you (Director Wang Dejian, director of the opening film of this year’s film festival, “The Fourth Curtain”) can get Wang Yibo for your next project, you basically don’t even need to write a script; you can start shooting right away. That’s a very real issue.”
*Derek Yee previously worked with Wang Yibo for My Strange Friend. They have met again at the 2023 Huabiao Awards.
*Previously, Director Yao Xiaofeng of #WarOfFaith has also mentioned that investment started pouring in for War of Faith after Wang Yibo signed the project. This is also one of the reason why it was never on iQIYI’s press conference and no investment period has been declared.
Hahhah.. someone already screenshot this!
This is Wang Er Bo 😂 (middle school kid vibes all over).
Personally, i think we have new Bobo universe emoji in the making.
