Doubling class sizes for children with additional care and educational needs and without any additional resources to go with it doesn’t sound like progress to me
Disappointed to see wildlights at DublinZoo now charging for carers tickets .... it is reduced but wasnt it free for carers up until last year ?
Prices have gone up so much it's insane. Won't be visiting this year.
@DublinZoo
Absolutely disgraceful reforms to special needs assistant support announced by the department of education.
Sneaked in via circular without any parliamentary debate. Going forward no SNA support for children requiring emotional regulation or social skills. Will put massive pressure on schools will see more reduced timetables and exclusions. @HMcEntee needs to urgently step in and sort this out.

Ah yes, the ol’ “there’s no inflation” line, brought to you by the same crowd that thinks tariffs = free money and interest rates = mood swings. Let’s break this down like your uncle’s Facebook rants:
Oil prices:
• They’ve dropped a bit from the peak, but still higher than pre-COVID levels.
• Also: fluctuating weekly. Spoiler alert—not stable.
Interest rates:
• The Fed hasn’t cut them yet. Why? Because inflation still exists (no matter how many caps-lock tweets say otherwise).
• And no, the Fed doesn’t take advice from political temper tantrums.
Food prices:
• Still higher than 2020. Eggs aren’t trading for Teslas anymore, but don’t pretend grocery bills feel like 2018 again.
• Pro tip: “Down slightly” ≠ “No inflation.”
Inflation:
• Not zero. 3.2% year-on-year in the U.S. as of latest reports.
• Not the worst in history, but definitely not the utopia described here.
Tariffs bringing in billions?
• That’s… your own citizens paying more at checkout.
• Tariffs are taxes on imports, and U.S. consumers (not foreign governments) foot the bill.
• Economists have been screaming this for years. You can Google it—or don’t, freedom and all.
China’s 34% retaliatory tariff:
• Yep, they did retaliate. Because that’s how trade wars work. One hits, the other swings back. Shocking.
So, to sum it up:
• Inflation? Still real.
• Tariffs? Taxing Americans.
• Fed? Not cutting rates on demand.
• Food & oil? Slight dips, but still high.
• “Billions pouring in”? More like billions paid by American businesses & shoppers.
But sure, blame “past leaders” & scream “MAGA” loud enough, and maybe the facts will go away.

@fussireland@mmoynihantd Skip out is not something us parents of SEN kids can do. I hope @mmoynihantd is going to arrange to catch up again at a later date because for parents like us these issues Cannot wait!
No offer to meet at a later date or alt time despite parents already en route from the south of Ireland. @mmoynihantd if this is a sign of what's to come, you have failed at the 1st hurdle. We obviously haven't heard parents' msg.
PROTEST 2nd APRIL 2pm LEINSTER HOUSE.
A call from @mmoynihantd today that he'll have to "skip out" of a meeting after a few mins due to another commitment. These are parents of children with no school place for Sept. As Minister of SEN, do better. If your role is valued then put your money where your mouth is.
@caulmick@Independent_ie What is allowed continues.
Not the 1st or 2nd such stunt @AnneRabbitte has pulled with funding.
But what consequences are there?
C&AG doesn't want to know
Neither does @SIPOCIreland
So the question isn't why did she pull a stunt, it's why wouldn't she?
Zero consequences!

@MichealMartinTD - where is the Disability Unit ?? Your red line issue that was 'personal' - mar dhea- to you ?
If you could give a 🤏of the energy currently going into bickering about speaking rights to bringing the Disability Unit into being that would be 👌
@NiecyOKeeffe I broke my ankle just before new years , had surgery and at my first review appointment the consultant gave me a lolly pop... I laughed and he said "drs orders" . Have to say it made me smile
