@4PBFamilyLaw@JoDQC Huge privilege to see so many committed solicitors and members of our chambers enthused. Dealing with life changing cases with the most serious allegations of abuse; we all want the same thing - fair hearings for all parties and the evidence properly tested. Justice demands it.
@JoDQC@FamilyLawBar A powerful exposition of the issues and highly conflicting information that there has been. Until there is a clear statement that pilot reports will not be ‘in lieu’ of Part 25 experts, then whatever the clinical merits of the scheme, it is a fundamental threat to a fair trial.
@japv1 John Vater on the SIHIS Pilot with compelling arguments as to the risks there are to the appropriation of this clinical scheme for different purposes in the Family Justice System. A must read before @JoDQC FLBA talk on 10/10/24 https://t.co/07GioySDYu
Please attend this important meeting. There has been contradictory information about the use of reports issued under this pilot and the impact that will have upon obtaining independent Prt 25 experts in these most complex and controversial cases.
The DfE Suspicious Head injury pilot. What do we know about its impact & implications? Will its pilot reports impact on part 25 expert instruction ? What do we gain & lose by such reports?
Join us @FamilyLawBar.
10th Oct, 6-7.
This is too important an issue not to engage with.
Can I interest you in a little hope?
Cried tears of hope and pride seeing the footage tonight. I hope those terrified in asylum hotels can see all the people that support them and our human rights lawyers.
Well done @AntiRacismDay
Fuck the far right. THIS is who we are 🇬🇧
@daisynlil Brilliant article John! Complete clarity on the issues at play with justice for children and families at its heart. The fact that there was no notice, transparency or consultation about this pilot speaks volumes. The concept is fundamentally flawed.
@Stufuller1 I am already thinking about phone records! 😳 he may have deleted the message but there will still be the missed call in the call log…cue someone who saw George drive off, womble into The Bull, blissfully unaware that they hold the key to it all…I’m going new GP 😞
@robinthemint@CrimeLineLaw Are there any stats on how many guilty pleas are entered ‘late’ due to Defendants only being able to pay for representation close to the trial? And for delays due to late disclosure by the Crown? Or legal aid solicitors going to the wall and not being able to get rep down there?!
@Joanna__Hardy That’s ridiculous! But I raised a fee point on here about delays in my LAA payments once and I got such a swift reply from a guy who was so helpful so worth a try for anyone having one of these bonkers things going on. Having just read the replies there are tons of them…🙄
'The Family Court and domestic abuse: achieving cultural change’ is the second report on the family justice system from the Domestic Abuse Commissioner.
It makes 10 recommendations to fulfil the provisions of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021.

This is the 3rd time I’m retweeting this but another thought; this puffed up little Lord is addressing someone who arrived on the Kindertransport - his response is vile at every possible level, including its insensitivity towards & disrespect for Lord Dubs, who is visibly shaken.
Matthew Caseby died as a result of neglect at the Priory. Yet they have still not implemented life-saving recommendations.
His father Richard & our very own @DebatINQUEST spoke to @BBCr4today about our #NoMoreDeaths campaign to end preventable deaths.
