This investment by @goahead is great news and builds on the £11bn a year boost to the economy driven by jobs in the bus sector and supply chain and the £40bn a year spent by passengers in local economies @CPT_UK

[Department for Transport @transportgovuk]

📣 We’re getting more zero emission buses out on our roads.

@TheGoAheadGroup are investing £500 million to deliver up to 1,200 new zero emission buses from @Wright_bus which will:

✅ Support hundreds of jobs
✅ Get the economy moving
✅ Improve bus journeys

It is imperative that, regardless of the regulatory model that buses are delivered under, we retain focus on what passengers want - buses that are reliable, fast, affordable, going where they want to go. Great to discuss this on BBC Radio 4 You and Yours today @CPT_UK

Enjoyed my trip on one of the 70 new electric buses being rolled out across Norwich today by @FirstNorwich. A real testament to what can be achieved through partnership working. If you are ever in Norwich I urge you to give them a go!

[Alison Edwards @AlisonLEdwards]

“With just 87 (ZEBRA-funded buses) on the road, we would like to see the Government outline how the remaining ZEBRA funding of £115m will be allocated, and how they will ensure their commitment is delivered,” says CPT's @AlisonLEdwards via @Independent: https://t.co/zqHCJ7c07j
