'A new safety limit on a pesticide that kills marine wildlife has been delayed by four years following pressure from the salmon farming industry.'
Don't eat, promote, or sell farmed salmon, it is destroying Scotland's environment.🐟☠️@jamieoliver@wagamama_uk@TheHouseofBruar
@Liz_ORiordan I saw my 17 year old brother in his coffin. He died in a climbing accident. We couldn't see his injuries but it wasn't like him at all, so white and still. He had been so very full of life & happy. It took us a while to think of him like that again.

Scottish Ministers lift the ban on landing berried (i.e. egg carrying female) lobsters 👇
...which they only implemented about a month ago
This has to be top of the pile on fisheries management cowardice - leaders failing to lead
https://t.co/NLPAaonBbY
I’ve done this - reported illegal dredging in a closed area. Nothing happened. It very seldom does. Last time I saw fisheries protection officers at work they were distributing leaflets to moored dinghies warning private boat owners not to overfish. Unbelievable, but true.
In the forthcoming general election ask candidates and their campaigners what they will be doing to radically accelerate land reform in Scotland. That, either by boosting funding, or by political moves that will add bite that is so far deficient in the 2024 land reform bill.
It's difficult to accept cuts like this when you consider that @scotgov hasn't yet implemented the taxation recommendations of its own Land Reform Review Group. More than 10 years after they were made.
So it's not about lack of money, it's about lack of will.
Salmon farms are killing our Lochs. ''Tiny concentrations of azamethiphos kill young lobsters + herring.'' Previous studies suggested; “An unacceptable environmental risk.''
Mowi doubled the use of organophosphate 'Azamethiphos' between 2018 - 2023. ☠️🦞https://t.co/vFiqM8S8qb
A gentle reminder that Reform UK is not a democratic political party. It is a private company owned 53% by Nigel Farage & 33% by Richard Tice. It has no real members; it has no democratic policy-making processes. It is an unaccountable entity & play thing of two rich men. Via @FT
Blown away by this review of Night Train to Odesa - the abridged Radio 4 version which starts on Monday - "tremendous eloquence, vividness and humanity". Found in the current @RadioTimes.
@Dr_BellaR Dumfries and Galloway- particularly along the Wigtownshire coast-line. Beautiful, long history, friendly folk, lots of lovely places to eat. I'm pretty scruffy & don't feel out of place.
@andywightman as I was causing immense damage to the estate's reputation. She agreed I would but I refused to do so. An incredibly uncomfortable position to be put in, to either speak out in front of landowners & their supporters or shut up & say nothing. 2/2
@andywightman Remember giving evidence on land issues in Applecross to LRRG in Fort William. Others were given limited time to talk but I was allowed to go on. By the time I got home chair of the community company (my employer) had been told I was to report to the factor to explain myself 1/2
📌Today's @guardian highlights the ongoing failure to protect the life in our seas, including the seabed damage we documented in the Small Isles Marine Protected Area.
