Just a case of getting accurate measurements of the area (and noting fixtures like where windows and plug sockets are located) and then deciding the elements you’d like featured.

Our wish for @PICU_BCH was to create a calm and reflective space, a room that offers respite from the stress of the intensive care unit, a place that feels safe enough for families to be vulnerable or comforted for a while themselves, before returning to their child’s bedside 🏩

They can sometimes be tricky to get around, but in this case the room isn’t actually a clinical space so there was a lot more freedom in selecting the furniture 🙂

As 2019 draws to a close, am thinking back over a very special commission for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital’s PICU. It was such an honour to work alongside their amazing team, thank you to the incredible @gilljen45 for getting in touch to see if I could reimagine the space!
