Mr Benn entered the shop one last time. Suddenly the Shopkeeper appeared. "It's time to go" he said.
Remembering Ray Brooks, accomplished actor and Mr Benn narrator who has died aged 86.
As another school year draws to a close, Margaret and I would like to give a special mention to all of our education colleagues who are retiring, and to all those who are leaving the profession for other reasons.
Thank you for your dedicated service! ❤

True story today.
My sister goes back to her male doctor armed with the correct questions re menopause. She is suffering and being given incorrect and sub standard treatment.
Male Dr: what is the problem
Sister: the debilitating fatigue, I can't even move some days
Male Dr. Me too
Sister then gives the other symptoms and asks for a referral to menopause clinic as no one is helping her at her GP.
Male Dr: What do you think women in Sri Lanka do? They grin and bear it. They don't have the luxury of the expensive treatments that you are asking for.
Male Dr: I will refer you, but it may be rejected.
So my sister, suffering, was gaslighted in 3 ways; Her symptoms were diminished, she was told she should grin and bear it, she was told she may not get her referral.
This is what women are up against. And this is a woman very well briefed in what to ask and expect.

Just heard the Home Secretary stand up in Parliament and declare that "the British people support the Rwanda plan".
I'm sick of these guys telling me what I support.
I do not support the "Rwanda plan".
If you don't either, please retweet.
One of our y11 girls has spent every break/lunchtime this year & last on her own in the library. She has resolutely rebuffed every attempt at conversation. Today she asked me to sign her shirt. I was the only person she’d asked. School libraries are important for so many reasons
We don’t go to the dentist and have a go at a filling ourselves whilst we’re there, do we? So why do we think it’s okay to happily have a go at the job of a performer when we go to the theatre? Respect performers. Respect theatre. Respect the arts.
