Lesbian history. A fantastic study that should be in any #lesbianhistory student's bag. #gayhistory The story of a community under siege a brilliant study of of butch femme roles in pre war lesbian America. Fascinating stuff.
The Telegraph started a hatefest by alleging JK Rowling's new novel is about "a transvestite serial killer" and made the equally false claim that the book's moral is "never trust a man in a dress". Today it is pretending to be a decent newspaper and appealing for tolerance
I don't know what is worse about this story. The malice, the willingess of supposedly progesssive people to repeat false allegations without even bothering to check, or the assumption that "fallen" women can be placed in a free fire zone where any lie can be told about them.
@_BoosterGold_ @by_ELReynolds @belles1124@DinoRay@halleberry Exactly. The alternative would be to use a trans man actor who would then have to dress as their earlier female self which would not be a comfortable ask for many trans men or to use a person born male to mimic having a female body in their earlier years.
@by_ELReynolds @belles1124@DinoRay@halleberry So it would be OK for any man to take this role? If trans men are men, then that works right? Clearly not. Trans men are born female, that's the whole point otherwise there is no need to transition. Halle Berry has a female body. Where is the problem here?
@OC_Bright_Night @BrightsparkCre1 @EKD11@jk_rowling No. It is not a fair comparison. Trans women are born with male bodies, this gives them a different experience of life prior to and after transition. All women understand what it is to be in a female body from birth. Giving birth doesn't change the fundementals of being female.
When Nyunmiti Burtom & other female Australian Aboriginal artists from a remote community heard of the Christchurch Mosque attack, 2019, they showed grief by creating a canvas for NZ Muslim community depicting people separated by sea, culture, but united in humanity.

Upon reflecting throughout my transition I have come to the conclusion that if society were not homophobic I would not be transgender.
From a young age it was (sometimes literally) beat into me that my mannerisms, behaviors, tastes and attraction to boys were “for girls”. /1
@6suckssex @DebbieHayton @notafootstool @jk_rowling Go look up the stats on how many women have been murdered by men, against how many trans men and women have been murdered by men. Big clue here, women win every time. Not a race anyone wants to come first in.
@ACLU Wrong. CIS is an ideology not a fact. Women exist, stop erasing us. Create a separate competitive sector for trans women and for trans men. Respect to all without erasure.
@Ahmed16380805@AD5NL@bren_jinx@MaggieMaeFish No it wasn't that is rubbish. It was only ever illegal for men FYI. It was legalised because campaigners worked for years to get equality and because social change made it possible, that is here in the UK.
@Ahmed16380805@AD5NL@bren_jinx@MaggieMaeFish How does your description of incest have any comparison with what homosexuality is based on? Homosexuality and heterosexuality are based on the same thing.
@Ahmed16380805@AD5NL@bren_jinx@MaggieMaeFish Why are you making comparisons between homosexuality and incest?Homosexuality is a consenting adult relationship, the incest is an abuse of power and deeply damaging. Why are you not including heterosexuality in your comparison?
@Ahmed16380805@jackpryce7@funnysmartaleck@AD5NL@MaggieMaeFish Ok Ahmed, can I flip this around? By your reasoning it would be OK for someone who doesn't like black people to say they don't like black people but they can exist. That is still racism. Your dislike of gay people is homophobia.
