After Ashura, Imam Sajjad (AS) was placed in shackles, with chains fastened around his blessed neck. He was then mounted upon a camel. But because of his illness and inability to remain seated, his feet were tied to the camel's sides.

Peace be upon the one who performed prayer beneath the rain of arrows, so that we may perform prayer under Allah’s mercy.
Peace be upon the beacon of justice, Imam al-Husayn (AS).
“When you see a person not engaging in a purposeless chatter, then that is the sign of his excellent (understanding of) Islam.”
Prophet Muhammad (saws)
Al-Amali
I am the son of the person killed unjustly,
the son of one whose head was severed from the back of the neck,
I am the son of the one who was thirsty till the last moment,
I am the son of one who was abandoned in Karbala,
I am the son of the one whose blood soaked in the dust – I am the son of the one who was slaughtered in Karbala.
I am the son of the one on whom the angels of the heavens cried,
I am the son of the one on whom the jinn in the earth and birds in the sky wailed.
I am the son of the one whose head was paraded on the spear;
I am the son of the one whose family was made prisoners from Iraq to Sham.
—Imam Zain Al Abideen (AS)
Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq (عليه السلام) said,
“The [sigh] of the one who is concerned for us due to our oppression is glorification, and their concern for our affairs is worship.”
(al-Kafi, vol. 2, pg. 226)
Curse of Allah be upon Umayyad rulers who poisoned the one who had already endured lifetime of suffering. Peace be upon the one who had borne chains, illness, captivity and endless grief —Ya Imam Zain ul Abideen (as).
Imam Zain ul Abideen(as) is known as Syed us Sajideen because after going through the worst tragedy when men were martyred and their heads were raised on spears even in such a moment of immense sorrow, Imam(as) remained in the state of Sujood, glorifying the greatness of God
Imam ʿAli ibn Husayn (عليهما السلام) said,
“The signs of a believer are five: piety [even] when in seclusion, giving charity in spite of lack, patience in the face of calamity, clemency when angered, and truthfulness in spite of fear.”

The Shia school of thought is truly the only one that follows and emphasises on reasoning alongside religion, whereas other school of thoughts come to conclusions which contradicts the Islamic principles they uphold.
By grounding religious understanding in both reason and authentic Islamic teachings, the Shia school of thought aims to ensure that what it believes is consistent with how those beliefs are applied in practice.
Everyone eventually matures in old age.
But, the key to success in life is maturing in your 20's and 30's.
The key is to learn from the experiences of elders before you become one yourself.
Deepest Condolences on the Martyrdom of Imam Zayn al-Abideen (as).
The imam (as) was present in the Battle of Karbala but did not participate in the battle because of sickness. He was taken captive to Kufa and Damascus together with other captives of Karbala. His speech at the presence of Umayyad caliphs created awareness among people about the position of the Ahl al-Bayt (as).
Imam Zayn al-Abideen led the caravan of women and children who were taken as prisoners of war after Ashura. In shackles, along with the noble Lady Zainab (as), Imam Zayn al-Abideen challenged (as) injustice. When threatened with execution, the Imam stated:
“Is it through killing that you threaten me?! Don’t you know that martyrdom is our path, and our honor lies in it?”
In the court of the tyrant Yazid (la), Imam Zayn al-Abideen spoke out in front of the crowd.
He announced who he was and what had happened to his family, the protectors of faith. As the Imam eloquently spoke, the people present were spontaneously awakened to the tragedies that had come to pass. The entire court was shaken in an outburst of tears and emotional cries.
Yazid (la) feared that the crowd would turn against him so he ordered that the call to prayer be made. When the call to prayer reached the phrase, "I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of God," Imam Zayn al-Abideen turned to Yazid and said:
“O Yazid! This Muhammad is my grandfather or your grandfather? If you say that he is your grandfather, then you are a liar and you will become kafir; and if you say that he is my grandfather, then why did you kill his family? Why did you kill my father and made his women captives?”
As people heard these words, they saw through Yazid's deception. The court was overtaken by commotion and division. With Imam Zayn al-Abideen's words, people saw the ugly face of evil that Yazid represented.
The Imam (as) was martyred after being poisoned by the ummayad caliph, Walid ibn ʿAbd al-Malik (la).
Narrated that Abu al-Hasan al-Ridha (as) said,
On the ring of Ali ibn Husain (as) was written, "Disgraced and evil are the killers of Husain bin Ali (as)"

Whoever knows me knows me; but one who does not know me, I shall inform him of my status and noble descent.
I am the son of Mecca and Mina, I am the son of Zamzam and Safa.
I am the son of ‘Ali al-Murtaza, I am son of the one who subdued the people till they said: la ilaha illal lah,
I am the son of Fatimatu ’z-Zahra’, I am the son of the chief of the women, I am the son of the pure Batul, I am the son of ‘the part of the Messenger;’ and I am the son of Khadijatu ’l-Kubra.
25th Muharram Heartfelt Condolences On The Martyrdom Day of Imam Zain ul Abideen (a)
On this sorrowful day, the 25th of Muharram, we remember the martyrdom of the fourth infallible Imam, Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.), known as Zain ul Abideen (the Ornament of the Worshippers) and Imam Sajjad (the One who Prostrates Most). Son of the great martyr Imam Hussain (a.s.) and grandson of Imam Ali (a.s.) and the Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w.), he stands as a beacon of patience, devotion, and resilience in the face of unimaginable tragedy.
Born in Medina around 38 AH (659 CE), Imam Sajjad (a.s.) witnessed the horrors of Karbala at a young age. He was severely ill on the day of Ashura and was thus spared from fighting, as per his father’s wish. After the massacre of his father, brothers, and companions, he was taken captive along with the women and children of Ahlul Bayt (a.s.). Chained and paraded through the deserts from Karbala to Kufa and then to Damascus, he endured humiliation with dignity, delivering powerful sermons that exposed tyranny and upheld the truth of Islam.
His life after Karbala was one of constant worship and remembrance of Allah. He spent his days fasting and his nights in prayer, his forehead calloused from prolonged prostration. He authored the renowned Sahifa Sajjadiya, a priceless collection of supplications that continue to guide millions in connecting with their Lord. Despite living under the oppressive Umayyad rule, he taught the ummah the true essence of faith, knowledge, forbearance, and social justice through his noble character and silent struggle.
The Umayyad caliph Walid ibn Abdul Malik ordered his martyrdom by poison in Medina in 95 AH (713 CE). Imam Zain ul Abideen (a.s.) accepted this fate with the same submission he showed throughout his life, praising Allah even on his deathbed. He was buried in Jannat al-Baqi beside his uncle Imam Hasan (a.s.), at the age of about 57.

May Allah eternal curse be upon Al-Walid ibn Abd al-Malik and upon all those who oppressed, persecuted, and martyred the Ahlul Bayt (as).
