I just learned this week that marriage in Sudan comes with honeymoon package just like it comes with lefe in Arewa. It’s a given that part of the expenses should include one-month stay in the best hotel in town for less privilege and an international honeymoon in destination (Zanzibar, Maldives, Seychelles, Bali etc.) for the elites. I just got curious when I sat in the lobby of my hotel one evening then I saw a flurry of activities by young couples (ladies with henna - which is symbolic to married women). Then I got this revelation.
NB: anyone that wants a Sudanese wife should prepare 100g of gold for the Arousa as part of the Nikah.
