Waye ubanki? What was his impact on Nigeria, his ummah, or even his own family? What legacy did he leave behind?

My father isn’t just a former Managing Director of the Water Corporation he’s an activist, a politician (the most prominent Hausa-Fulani politician from Southern Kaduna), a traditional title holder (Dan Iyan Jama’a), an Islamic evangelist, philanthropist, businessman, and contractor.

He graduated from ABU at 23 and has worked tirelessly ever since. He was appointed SSA on Project Monitoring by Governor Makarfi in 2003, later became the first Northern General Manager of Semedan under President Yar’Adua in 2007, served as MD of Kaduna Investment House from 2016 to 2019, and then as MD/CEO of the Kaduna State Water Corporation from 2019 to 2023.

He is fluent in Hausa, Fulfulde, English, and Arabic. He left the PDP after the post-election violence that led to the killing and displacement of over a thousand Hausa-Fulani communities. He fought against the injustices of GEJ’s administration under the Network for Justice from the Kaduna High Court up to the ECOWAS Court and won, securing compensation for the Muslim ummah.
He also served as Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Muslim Youth Forum of Southern Kaduna (MYFOSKA) and was a board member of the Southern Kaduna Muslim Ummah Development Association (SAKAMUDA). former Jaiz bank Jaiz foundation board of turstee member

His father, Maikudi, was a wealthy businessman and the party chairman of Southern Zaria under the ruling NPN during the Shagari era. his is from Katsina, from the Sarkin tama village, from clan of Dan waire the greatest Katsina general Under Sarki Korau.

He was never sacked, never invited by the DSS for any case. He resigned from the Kaduna State Government because of Uba Sani’s favoritism and the marginalization of Hausa-Fulani communities in Southern Kaduna despite those same communities giving him over 85% of his votes.

I have always written about him in the last 10 years, praising his intellectual prowess and command of English, little did I know he was the father of this young man

He gave me the confidence/energy to confront the evil media and fight against the ethnic profiling of Fulanis specifically and Northerners in general

The man stood tall and defended his people at a time when literally every Hausa/Fulani man in the North were afraid or scared to confront the media propaganda by ethnic/religious bigots from the South and their SOKAPU puppies from Southern Kaduna

He is a very brave and intelligent man with master class understanding of the killing of Hausa/Fulani Muslims in Southern Kaduna
