You move across Europe: road signs change language, your phone keeps working, you pay with the same currency, nobody stops you.
All of that became normal in less than 30 years.
And people still say a European federation is ‘impossible’
"It's hypocrisy to call yourself a Christian and chase away a refugee or someone seeking help, someone who is hungry or thirsty, toss out someone who is in need of my help... If I say I am Christian, but do these things, I'm a hypocrite."
- Pope Francis
Today is Sunday.
He is Risen!
“Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen!” – Luke 24:5-6
Early Sunday morning, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb but she couldn't find His body. The stone was rolled away. The grave was empty. The angels declared it: He is not here, He has risen!
Today we remember the empty tomb, proof that death is not the end and that Jesus is who He said He is: the Resurrection and the Life.
But why did He have to die?
Because God is perfectly just.
And the law is clear: “The wages of sin is death.” – Romans 6:23
God could not simply ignore sin without violating His own justice. The price for sin had to be paid. But rather than demanding it from us, He paid it Himself. In Jesus, God fulfilled the law completely both justice and mercy met at the cross.
He died not because He was weak, but because He is just and loving.
Justice demanded death. Love chose to take it on Himself.
“God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” – 2 Corinthians 5:21
“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8
Today, we don’t just celebrate a resurrection we celebrate that the debt is paid, the law is fulfilled, and we are free.
Happy Easter! Jesus is alive, and so is your hope!
