@Surfphilosopher@queerthecloset@jegaevi I love audiobooks because I can listen to them while performing other tasks. The problem here is that you are using the word "reading" to describe experiencing a story. Reading refers to gleaning information from written text. "Written" is the important part.
@Surfphilosopher@queerthecloset@jegaevi Oral traditions gave us some really great stories. They are a different medium than books. This conversation is like someone saying they read Lord of the Rings by watching the movies. A great experience of the story, but not what reading is
@itsbritneyloh@lisco_2000 Writing is a creative process. Why would a person who likes to create things want to cede control of the planning stage to a glorified blender?
@dooomedanny@ActualCorn Your graphs are useless in this argument. They compare incarceration history, not rate of offense, and don't directly compare between LGBT and non LGBT. Also, this is from the sex offender registry, which includes much more than child predators
@machoplvl100@GoodTasteJayce@BucketsCook@lone_rides@InternetH0F I think you need to reread what I said. Ancient cultures accepted slavery and misogyny and that is therefore reflected in the ancient religions they created. Modern society no longer accepts these things and now people try to reinterpret texts to say they never condoned them.
@GoodTasteJayce@machoplvl100@BucketsCook@lone_rides@InternetH0F It's the other way around. Ancient religions got their morals from ancient cultures. Society at large no longer believes it's ethical to own slaves or treat women as property. Now theologians creatively reinterpret religious texts to make them palatable for modern morals
@CharrDavenport @Mifield@LastBehaviorist I'm not going to argue with you, I just think you're being unreasonable in this. If the child is actively engaged in trying to hurt you or your belongings, that's a different situation from touching a child removed from any such context
@PresGoldwater @matt301apx @ritaresarian@RexChapman There's a national school bus driver shortage and your solution is to add another system that will also need bus drivers to spread them out even thinner?
@srenner22@LoreleiKing2@TheGoodLiars Yes, it says a lot about you that you've been so steadily feeding yourself lies and strawmen and ignoring people who tell you otherwise that you can believe a story like this is plausible. It says you're incredibly gullible
@BodreroMichael@CharlieCat1669@Songstress28 It's not just hair, you've been told this multiple times. Its a spiritual practice. It's like telling a religiously observant Jewish or Muslim person that they had to eat pork to be able to fly a plane.
