I’ll say it again. Been in law enforcement for over 20 years. If you’re not living somewhere where your local government and the majority of your officers have similar values as you, you better find somewhere that does and get away from those who don’t. Just like everything else it’s not always just about DEI. There’s a very strong push in the last several years to replace good officers with those who will have no problem violating your constitutional rights if told to do so. A police department is essentially a built in army for every city. Every officer has what’s called a moral threshold, what they’re willing to enforce beyond their personal beliefs and where they will drawn the line. It can vary greatly from officer to officer, and when push comes to shove many who thought they knew their line will move it for personal preservation.
