On Thursday, 9 April 2026 Ms. Sara Sepehri, a Bahá’í resident of Shiraz, was arrested amid a series of recent detentions targeting Bahá’ís in that city.

Security agents entered Ms. Sepehri’s residence in Shiraz at approximately 5:00 p.m., conducted a search of the premises, and detained her. Officers initially searched her mother’s apartment, located on the lower floor of the building, before forcing entry into Ms. Sepehri’s home upstairs.

During the operation, agents confiscated all of her electronic devices as well as personal and work-related belongings. She was subsequently taken to an undisclosed location.

No information has been released regarding the authority responsible for the arrest or any charges brought against her.

Ms. Sepehri’s mother is disabled and requires continuous care. Ms. Sepehri herself is under medical supervision, and stress-related pressure could pose a serious risk to her health.
