🎮 SONY ASKED FOR FEEDBACK. GAMERS ANSWERED.

And this is where things get interesting.

Sony put out a PS5 survey asking players what they think about the console, its games, performance, online features, the DualSense and the overall PlayStation experience.

Physical media wasn’t specifically one of the questions.

Gamers brought it up anyway.

Players started sharing the survey and telling each other: if you’re worried about physical games disappearing, THIS is where you say it.

That matters.

Because gamers have spent years being told that digital-only is simply where the market is going, as if nobody gets a vote in the process.

Well, Sony asked.

And people answered.

Now the video making the rounds says the survey was closed early after that response started gaining traction. I haven’t seen enough independent confirmation to say WHY it closed, so I’m not going to pretend we know Sony’s motive.

But here’s the part we do know:

Sony is hearing about physical media from BOTH sides now.

Players are bringing it up in the consumer survey, while separate reporting says Sony has also been asking developers about the future of physical games.

That’s not nothing.

And maybe the bigger lesson here has nothing to do with whether Sony changes course tomorrow.

It’s this:

If a company asks its customers what they think, customers shouldn’t give them the answer the company wants.

Give them the answer YOU believe.

That’s what feedback is supposed to be.

Physical. Digital. Ownership. Pricing. Preservation. Accessibility. Whatever matters to you.

Speak up when they give you the microphone.

Because apparently people are listening.

🎮 SONY NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO READ THE ROOM.

PlayStation is reportedly sending out another player survey asking people how they feel about the hardware, controllers, game library and the overall PlayStation experience.

Good.

Then I hope Sony is prepared for some answers it may not particularly enjoy.

Because gamers have been talking for a while now.

Physical media matters.

Ownership matters.

Preservation matters.

The games people already love matter.

And when your own customers keep raising the same concerns, eventually the answer cannot simply be another corporate strategy meeting where somebody decides gamers will eventually get used to it.

That is why these surveys matter.

If you receive one, don't just click through it so you can finish.

Use the comment boxes.

Tell Sony what you actually like about PlayStation.

Tell them what you don't.

Tell them whether physical games matter to you.

Tell them what you think about the direction of the game library.

Tell them how you feel about cancellations, studio decisions, hardware, controllers, pricing or anything else they specifically ask about.

And keep it constructive.

Sony doesn't need another screaming match.

They need data they can't misunderstand.

Because there is something almost ironic about asking gamers, “How are we doing?” while those same gamers have been publicly telling you what they're worried about.

The survey isn't the problem.

Ignoring the answers would be.

I still like PlayStation. That's exactly why I want Sony to pay attention before more players start deciding that somebody else understands them better.

Read the room, Sony.

Your customers are already in it.
