Rebel is asking fans to sign a petition this weekend.

Hours after Wednesday's Dynamite: Rebel Heart, Rebel posted a video saying she got home to an urgent message from I AM ALS. The ACT for ALS, the federal law funding ALS research and expanded access to investigational treatments, expires September 30. The House and Senate each passed reauthorization bills this summer, but the versions differ, the House has canceled its last two weeks of September, and I AM ALS says the bill has been delayed and folded into a year-end healthcare package. The group is collecting signatures to deliver Monday.

"A lot of patients do not have time to spare. Some won't even make it to the end of the year."

In her caption, Rebel wrote that renewing the bill "will secure another $500 million for ALS research and treatment access," and that despite unanimous support, "Congress might keep pushing it off until the end of the year or longer."
