This is Jabal an-Nūr (Mountain of Light), at the peak of the mountain is the Cave of Hira, where the Prophet ﷺ used to spend time and where he received the first revelation of the Qurʾān, by the angel Jibrāʾīl عليه السلام.

It is here that the verse 'Iqra bismi rabbik Alladhī khalaq' was revealed.

The mountain is about 2 hours walk away from al-Masjid al-Ḥarām, and (today) it takes about 45 minutes to an hour to get to the top and reach the cave. (This is with steps that have been carved into the mountain, so it would have been much more difficult during the time of the Prophet ﷺ).

What's more amazing is that the Prophet ﷺ's wife, Khadījah رضي الله عنها used to climb the mountain every day to bring food to the Prophet ﷺ, after which Allāh sent greetings to her...

Narrated Abū Hurayrah رضي الله عنه : The Prophet ﷺ said that Jibrāʾīl said, "Here is Khadījah coming to you with a dish of food or a tumbler containing something to drink. Convey to her a greeting from her Lord and give her the glad tidings that she will have a palace in Paradise built of Qaṣab wherein there will be neither any noise nor any fatigue."
