By the way: The Iranian regime owes American victims of Iranian terrorism over $50 billion in damages. There are over 90 judgments against Iran. Surely, our vice president brought that up in face-to-face peace negotiations.
Given the rich menu of options, I've been a little disappointed with the relative dearth of Strait puns headlines, like:
Strait-forward for Trump's Iran strategy,
Wanted: A Strait shooter
Damn Strait, this war's not over
Strait to the heart of Trump's second term
Etc.
This meme accidentally exposes the truth by getting it exactly backwards.
People who live under communism don’t ask for more of it. They flee it.
People who live under capitalism complain about it precisely because capitalism lets them complain, organize, eat, post memes, and still live comfortably enough to fantasize.
Capitalism creates the surplus that makes utopian delusions possible. Communism destroys surplus so fast that fantasy is replaced by survival.
That’s why:
Cubans risk death to escape socialism, not to escape Florida
Venezuelans flee markets that were abolished, not markets that failed
Eastern Europeans didn’t tear down walls to get more communism
If capitalism were truly “living hell,” communists wouldn’t be typing from iPhones, in heated apartments, with full grocery stores, demanding the abolition of the system providing all of it.
What they call “living hell” is actually this:
being required to produce value instead of demanding it.
Communism isn’t the next stage after capitalism.
It’s what people who’ve never lived without capitalism imagine comes next.
@ericadyork@JonahDispatch He had no choice but to abandon it because it became demonstrably untrue. Even his sycophants can’t pretend the emperor is wearing clothes on that one.
How fast it went from “We’re gonna be rich, we’re gonna pay off the debt, we’re gonna eliminate the income tax” to “Suck it up, you overprivileged bastards.”
Hatred of an individual, politician or otherwise, doesn’t give you a pass to harm them whether they’re the Democratic governor of Pennsylvania, President Donald Trump, or a health care CEO.
The morally consistent position is to be repulsed by ANY act of violence.
It pays to be big business, not the little guy, with this administration. LOL. Who could’ve seen this coming?
To update you in the back, tariffs are his favorite word, they will make us rich, they will help the working man, but no way are we charging them on the biggest company in America making the biggest product in the world.
I am holding back my snark - but man, this is hilarious.
