🚨 It's a big scandal in Mexico: FIFA have refused to award Guillermo Ochoa the special 'legacy' patch reserved for players with five or more World Cups. 😳🇲🇽

The reason? FIFA's criteria only count tournaments in which a player featured on the pitch, meaning Ochoa's call-ups in 2006 and 2010 would not qualify as official participations.

Ochoa has been selected for SIX World Cups and has been one of Mexico's most iconic players for nearly two decades, but it's still not enough in the eyes of FIFA. If he plays at the 2026 World Cup, the Mexican Football Federation will push FIFA to reconsider.

Durante una protesta en la Ciudad de México, una joven identificada como Julia lanzó un mensaje cargado de enojo contra la presidenta Claudia Sheinbaum y contra la celebración del Mundial en México.

La joven acusó a la presidenta de haber olvidado sus promesas y sus luchas, asegurando que terminó siendo “la misma gata, nada más que revolcada”.

También llamó al mexicano a no ver el Mundial, al considerar que este evento no está pensado para la mayoría de la población, sino para quienes sí pueden pagar boletos, viajes, hospedaje y privilegios.

“Esto no es para ustedes, esto es para los ricos”, dijo.

Julia cuestionó que mientras el país enfrenta desigualdad, violencia, desapariciones y crisis sociales, se pretenda vender el Mundial como una fiesta nacional.

Señaló que muchas personas estarán más cerca del evento como voluntarios bajo el sol que como aficionados dentro de un estadio.

También criticó los sueldos millonarios en el futbol, comparándolos con lo que ganan médicos y trabajadores que realmente salvan vidas.

Para ella, celebrar 13 partidos en México no alcanza para tapar la realidad de un país donde muchas familias siguen buscando desaparecidos, sobreviviendo con sueldos bajos y viendo cómo los grandes eventos se organizan para unos cuantos.

¿El Mundial es una fiesta para México… o solo otro espectáculo donde el pueblo pone la emoción, el trabajo y la calle, mientras otros se quedan con el negocio?
