It has passed exactly one month since @muratbaiman's arrest, namely on 15 February, Karakalpak activist Akylbek Muratbai @muratbaiman was arrested in Almaty #Kazakhstan at the request of Uzbek authorities. A criminal case was filed against him for publishing a video from the OSCE Warsaw Human Rights Conference #WarsawHDC, and for peacefully commemorating those who died during the brutal suppression of protests in Karakalpakstan in 2022. At the moment when police officers came to Akylbek's home, he was preparing another post reminding that at that time 19 months had already passed since the date of establishment of a government commission in #Uzbekistan to investigate the tragic events in the Republic of #Karakalpakstan. This commission began its work on 15 July 2022 and today it has been 20 months since its participants - Ombudsman Feruza Eshmatova @F_Eshmatova, MPs Bobur Bekmurodov @BBobur and Alisher Kodirov @AlisherQodir, human rights activist Gulnoz Mamarasulova @GMamarasulova - have not published the results of their investigation yet. The #Mirziyoyev's regime cannot be allowed to simply remain silent and forget the crimes committed and ongoing against ethnic Karakalpaks.
