The Bears’ Board of Directors voted Thursday to advance the stadium development in Hammond, Indiana, with the exact to be selected. This is this first time that the Bears’ board has voted on any stadium site.
As one source said, “There is more work to do but barring anything very strange, it’s a done deal.”
Plus, Hammond is in the same time zone as Illinois & they get the Chicago markets for news. It’s perfectly fine for the name to be Chicago Bears! Anyone who is saying name has to change they are just trolling. @davebftv@itsfickybaby@BearsFanTV@CHGO_Bears@BearsNationCHI
The Chicago Bears name won’t change just because their stadium location did.

The saddest part about the Chicago Bears leaving Chicago is the citizens of Chicago ironically are to blame because they kept voting in the Democrats.
The one thing the fans loved the most is now gone because the people you voted into office let it happen.
@nosoupforgeorge We have a South Shore that runs from South Bend, Indiana to Chicago, Illinois with a stop in Hammond, Indiana. Those people could always take the train & get off at Hammond, Indiana. Depending on the exact location it might be not that far from the South Shore station.
@Bear_Down_Adam Of course not! Anyone can be a Bears fan. You don’t have to be born & raised in Chicago or Illinois! I live in Indiana not too far from Notre Dame. My family has been Bears fan my whole life & I became a Bears fan because of them. It always aired in our area too.
@Batstamp1@creamsleeve The Bears are going to be only 25 minutes or 17 Miles away from Solider Field compared to Arlington Heights. Blame the Illinois Government for them not caring about the Bears until they made the talk to move to Indiana. It’s not affordable for the Bears to be in Illinois.
@creamsleeve People can be mad at both the Illinois Government & how Bears organization has handled this stadium situation. Unfortunately it’s a business decision & as a Bears fan who lives in Indiana, I’m excited for Bears to be a little closer. The move won’t be until 2030-2032 at least.
@nilwxreports@southshoreline runs from Chicago to South Bend & there is a stop in Hammond, Indiana. Depending on the exact site the stadium would be, it’s probably not too far from the South Shore.
@KyleBrandt The move is pretty much official. The Illinois Governor & Mayor can say they are “working hard” to get a deal with the Bears when they don’t care. This business deal with Indiana makes sense for the owners! They have been screwed by Illinois for Years!
...and, there you go. JB Pritzker, Brandon Johnson, and Springfield politicians are chasing yet another business out of Illinois. This one will hurt for a long time.
This is why Illinois is among the worst in the country for GDP, job, and income growth since Pritzker took office.
First the Jets and Giants, now the Bears. Three of the NFL's biggest media markets have teams that don't play in "their" state.
It's not a big deal. The Chicago Bears are the Chicago Bears, even if they're just across the border. Just ask Jets and Giants fans. There's no issue.
@voicearchivist Disagree. I love Phineas & Ferb growing up & got teary eyed when they said goodbye in 2015. The show coming back a decade later was a nice time away & it’s a new summer. New stories, inventions, music, etc. Never gets old.
