To all creatives worried about whether someone will think your work was written by AI:

I've written countless military and government documents during my 31 years of military and federal civil service. My writing reflects this strict style and is easily flagged by AI detection websites. I started my writing project in 2017 and all of my early drafts, restructured versions, and current revised scenes showed between 6%-20% AI generated when I checked them on https://t.co/utd7BCQyga and other AI detection websites.

I don't use AI to write my work and don't really care if someone else does use AI to write fiction, create art, or to assist them with organizing and marketing. AI is here to stay and will continue to grow and improve with technological advancements. Creatives should support and encourage each other, not stare down a long arrogant nose and attempt to judge someone else. I predict that eventually, the market will become numb to all the fear mongering from authors, editors, artists, and others. Followers, target audiences, and the market in general will pursue great stories, poetry, music, and art to enjoy without caring how it was created. Those who continue to stand on a soapbox spewing vitriol and hatred will lose followers and their sales will fade. They will become a friend of misery, much like Metallica's awesome song, "My Friend of Misery." Worry about your work and stop trying to control others.

Having shared all this, creatives shouldn't worry too much about AI detection. Write your stories, creat your art and or videos, produce songs and music, and ignore all the witch hunts and cancel mobs. Do what makes you happy.

This issue has gotten way out of control. It's almost like the Invasion of the Body Snatchers. 🤔🫣🙄😠

Until I saw a post about the cancelation and @Polygon 's article, I'd never heard of them. Now I know why. Polygon and the author of the article are irrelevant and from what I've read of these comments, no one cares what they have to say. @AmazonMGMStudio has made a terrible decision that will cost them in the long run. If they are to afraid to create a new #stargate show, perhaps they should release the rights so serious minded production companies can pursue reviving a potential billion dollar franchise.

Sadly, it's true. Amazon has elected not to move forward with the new Stargate series.

There's not much I can add beyond confirming what's happened. But I will say this...

Creator Martin Gero developed a new Stargate series over two years, ultimately crafting a show that offered a fresh jumping-on point for new viewers while deeply respecting existing canon. It was a series that avoided the pitfalls of several modern remakes and reboots by fully embracing the core of its predecessors: action, adventure, exploration, wonder, heart, humor, and found family. And based on that creative vision, the new Stargate series was greenlit in November of 2025.

As of today, officially, that original vision is no more. We'll never get the opportunity to introduce you to that world and those characters - or reintroduce you to, and check in with, some familiar faces from the past.

My heart breaks. For the incredibly talented writers who worked tirelessly to bring this show to life. For Martin who maintained an unwavering positive outlook throughout despite the challenges, and who always strove to make a show that would honor the fans while welcoming a new audiences. And for the long-suffering Stargate fandom who waited so long and came so close to getting a show they truly would have loved.
