Thanks to the late season rain, the #pollencount in the #BayArea has been very low.
Most of the #tree#pollen has been washed out.
#olive, #oak, and #grass pollen will bounce back as conditions dry out.

We are catching a little break from high #pollen counts in the #BayArea. The rains last week helped get some pollen out of the system
#Olive season is coming early this year and pollen is already in the air. Generally olive blooms in May- June time frame.

#grass and #americansweetgum has joined the #pollen parade. The #BayArea#allergy season continues to get adverse. The pollen counts will remain elevated for the next three to four weeks.

Warm days in the #BayArea means a much higher and diverse #pollen count.
There are at least a dozen different #allergy causing pollen in the air. And about another half a dozen ready to hit the air.
https://t.co/FCUS2jIycQ
#BayArea residents, if you have been having #allergies in the past few days, the line up of the suspects (#pollen) have now been updated.

#Alder#pollen is fading away, but other #allergens are beginning to announce themselves.
#BayArea get ready for the allergy season.

Deal all! #Allergy season has begun. It is in its early days and I plan to update Allerma site with #pollencounts on a weekly basis until Aug 2025.
I will be less active here going forward, so remember to check my site for up to date information.
Wishing you all good health!
#allergy season has begun in the #BayArea! #pollen for #alder and #redwoods are already in the air.
#ash has started to bloom in some areas as well and #eucalyptus is in a light bloom as well.
Don't be fooled by the rain and keep taking precautions!

@MarkWood949 Thank you, Mark for that valuable tip! The alder catkins are ripe here as well but I think the cold & wet conditions have kept the pollen count in check. One nice warm dry day and we are going to see a lot of pollen.
And yes, always trust your sinuses-the best sensor there is :)
#pollen count remains negligible due to wet and cold conditions. The #Alder has not started releasing pollen yet, but it is getting close. Historically, Alder starts pollinating around Thanksgiving.

#ChineseElm#pollen has finally started to show up in #BayArea. It is 5 weeks behind the usual schedule.
So, if you are feeling #allergy symptoms that you did not feel last September, it could be due to Chinese Elm.

#allergy conditions in the #BayArea remain subdued. #privet is phasing out. There is some #sagebrush in the air.
This year #ChineseElm barely bloomed. Like less than 5% of the normal.

@tinabenez To be clear this month, I have not seen any grass pollen in August. I will be running the air sampler tomorrow again to see if the slight drizzle made any difference but the pollen count was almost non-existent last Saturday.
The #pollen counts remain mostly benign for #allergy sufferers in the #bayarea.
#privet is drying out in some of the trees so the risks remain for those who are allergic to the family (#ash, #olive, #privet) and they get close.

@tinabenez Grass pollen generally peaks in May & June in the Bay Area and is done by July. There are some sporadic small counts here and there in Aug, but we generally do not get grass pollen here after July (unlike the East Coast and the Midwest. Also, no ragweed here!
@lisacpetras Generally speaking, Privet is the only thing in bloom in the Bay Area. But, you could have something else around your home that is blooming lightly but due to close proximity to your home could be affecting you.
The role of #Privet in summer allergies in the #BayArea is understated.
Visited three different friends and all complained of allergies. All were surrounded by Privet trees in bloom.
Privet is a cousin of #olive & #ash#Crossreactivity
