When used poorly, it’s unreadable.
I feel it’s a tool that can be used but only if it’s the most effective way to tell the story.

Today the toddler ran up to give me a hug. It was very sweet but somehow he did it in such a way that his forearm pressed against my windpipe.
So he was holding on tight very softly suffocating me.

@cassidyd200015 I’m a straight cis white male. The cast of my current WIP includes a mixed-race woman, a gay man and a trans woman. If someone gets on my case for writing them (apart from legit concerns, I’m not perfect) I will gently advise them to take a deep breath and put the Internet away.
