I highly recommend watching "take care of Maya". It's about the medical system labeling parents as abusive when they don't understand an illness. The medical trauma caused by this labeling is immense and the financial cost is incredibly placed on families who never made a choice.
Allowing zoom cameras to be off is an accommodation and provides accessibility. There is a huge misconception that having your camera off equals to "not paying attention". It's ableist!.
Many people have very productive calls without their cameras on. There are many reasons why a person may want their camera off such as reducing overstimulation, reducing stress in their eyes especially if their vision is impacted by devices,
People w/ lived experience hold unique and invaluable knowledge when it comes to crisis care, from how to create a community that recognizes a crisis, to establishing support before a crisis happens, to alternative ways of responding.

@EmilyTreichler They got it completely wrong. Historically his madness was documented and recent research believes he had bipolar. Some thought he had a physical condition, he did have seizures but regardless he had psychosis. Their depiction was just unrealistic and offensive
Under these horrific narratives.
I will share this much now and hope to share an actual piece with you all on my elaborate thoughts in regards to this show.

When will national tv stop portraying psychosis as violent or harmful, or something where people should be completely isolated or else they will become the killer or an out of control person?. The narratives around psychosis continue to be harmful and many will not seek support
